Guidelines
|
|
To
prevent abuse as well as to clarify the specifics of
the uptime guarantee program, the following rule set
applies:
|
• |
"Downtime" shall be defined as any given server
not responding to ping requests within its Local
Area Network for a period exceeding 5 minutes. |
|
• |
In order to
receive credit, the customer must submit a written
request, as detailed above, within 7 days of the
suspected downtime. |
|
• |
Prorated
credit shall be applied only if it is $5 or above
for any given month. |
|
• |
Credit shall be applied towards future account
hosting fees only. |
|
• |
Credit shall be calculated based on 15 minute
increments of accumulated downtime
over 99.5%. |
|
• |
HostVertex’s server uptime records shall be always
authoritative and binding. |
|
• |
The maximum credit liability of HostVertex shall
not exceed one (1) month of the primary/main
account hosting fees of any client. |
|
|
|
|
|
Are there any limitations to the guarantee? |
|
No provider can
guarantee 100% uptime. Servers and systems must be
brought down at times for routine maintenance and
upgrades to ensure that your site will perform
optimally.
However, we strive to keep such
service interruptions to a minimum, and, if
possible, give you advance notice of scheduled
maintenance routines.
We are not responsible for outages or
circumstances beyond our control that hinder access
to your site or server such as traffic conditions on
the internet or problems occurring at our upstream
providers facilities. Both of these conditions are
entirely out of our control. However, if the
problem occurs with our immediate upstream
providers, we will do everything possible to have
these providers correct the problem as soon as
possible.
Also we are not responsible for outages that occur
due to transportation errors outside our servers on
the Internet, DDoS or other attacks, browser or DNS
caching, and 3rd party software installed by and run
by the customer.
