This tutorial describes techniques used for customization of logo templates, which are available in various formats: .PSD, .AI, .WMF. Please download SampleLogo source files to practice on.  Your downloaded sample_logo directory contains the following files:

  • CORONETC.TTF - font that is used for company name
  • logo.ai - Adobe Illustrator source file
  • logo.wmf - source file that is editable in Corel Draw and can be used for preview
  • logo.psd - Photoshop source file

No matter which program you prefer for editing your template, first you will need to install the needed font in your system.

Step 1: Installing fonts

1.  Select Start>Settings>Control Panel>Fonts to open the needed system folder.
2.  Select File->Install Font to open a browse dialog.
3.  In the dialog, locate your downloaded sample_logo folder.
4.  Click Select All button and then OK.
5.  Close the window displaying ...\WINDOWS\FONTS folder.

With fonts installed, you can now choose the editor and proceed to the relevant step.  Each step is independent of others, and all steps explain the same thing - how to customize the text of your logo.

Choose one of the following:

Step 2: Customizing in Adobe Illustrator
Step 3: Customizing in Corel Draw
Step 4: Customizing in Photoshop
